Wander through the dense thicket of evergreen trees darkening the winter sky overhead. A scent upon the air, twinging your nose-smoke from some cabin far in the distance. The dark earthy bark plays tricks on you inviting fantasies of dark chocolate curls falling into the stark white snow crunching underfoot and chilling you to the bone. A walk in the Schwarzwald.

Caffeinated Tea Blend


Cedar and peppermint swirl with a rich earthy base of black tea and pu-erh with a delicate kiss of smoke from lapsang souchong. Bracing as a walk in the woods on a chilly day with the promise of a mug of steaming cocoa at the end-the cacao nibs in this blend round out both the flavor and mouthfeel of this tea.

The flavors and scent will change as the tea steeps, so be sure to take some time while your brew infuses to experience the journey.

Quintessential winter tea

This blend is truly a brilliant one. Many of these ingredients, though all favorites, have a way of overpowering others, but together, they harmonize seamlessly. The smoky taste of the lapsang souchong and the warmth it conjures feel suitably cozy contrasted against the snowiness of peppermint. The cedar brings to mind the beauty (in both sight and scent) of evergreen forests, while the cacao reminds one of the comfort of the indoors at this time of year. It’s like if all the good parts of winter came together in a tea, basically.

A winter favorite

This is my second year getting a round of Schwarzwald and I will get it every time it comes back. If you are a fan of live Christmas trees you will love it. It has that snowy day picking out a tree and then getting hot cocoa feel. It makes my inner child heart happy.

A great cup of tea for a cold snowy day 🌿❄️

I remember seeing this blend in the shop last year but didn’t get a chance to order it until now and I’m so glad I finally got to taste it! This tea blend is so perfect to have during wintertime, especially if the day is cloudy, gray and snowing like it is for me today.

When I first opened my jar of “Schwarzwald” when it arrived in the mail the first thing that popped into my head is that it smells like a slightly smoky herbal thin mint cookies, which is a plus in my book. And the taste of the tea with the cacao nib and peppermint is a lot like those thin mints too but flavor has more rich woodsy depth with the cedar, black tea and pu-erh tea along with a pleasant comforting smoky taste with the lapsang souchong.

If you like all those flavors on cold winters days & nights I would recommend trying this tea blend out.

Like a Breath of Winter Morning Air

Tied for my second-favorite OGA tea. Imagine walking through a bright, snowy grove of cedar trees while breathing in the most subtle hint of a nearby campfire. The mint, cedar, and smoke blend together to be refreshing and smooth without overpowering. A true morning tea that I also drink at night if I want to stay up late.
