Pasticceria: Tiramisu Black Tea Blend
Tea Notes: Coffee / Chocolate / Toasty
Caffeinated Tea Blend
For the May OGA Tea Guild we wandered to Italy to the streets of neighborhood pasticceria shops. For the member blend, the focus was a beloved favorite: tiramisu!
Coffee beans and cacao nibs come together with toasty hojicha and a sweeter luscious black tea base. Vanilla bean smooths the flavors throughout the blend while a kiss of orange peel offers something of the other scents you may find wafting in the air of the pastry shop as you make your decision on what to take home.
This blend is also slightly interactive, as the best way to get the flavors to come out is by cracking the coffee beans before brewing! A mortar and pestle makes a fun companion for this task but anything applied with a firm hand will do! If you add a touch of milk of your choice and sweetener, it will bring you ever close to the classic taste of tiramisu.
The flavors and scent will change as the tea steeps, so be sure to take some time while your brew infuses to experience the journey.
